We are delighted to announce a new revenue bursary fund to support Edible Growing (Community Groups) projects across Neath Port Talbot.

APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY 12.00 NOON, FRIDAY 10TH JULY

In the current climate, we often hear about the importance of food security and the need to get crops in the ground. As such, as well as promoting local, healthy, affordable and sustainable food, we are keen to support projects that will get edible crops in the ground and harvested by the end of February 2027!

If you are a community group that is growing food, or thinking of starting, please get in touch. The fund is offering up to 14 revenue bursaries of up to £250 per community group to help community-led growing projects within Neath Port Talbot County Borough to grow edible crops this year. What you grow is up to you, but we want to fund projects that see fruit or vegetables grown and harvested by the end of February 2027.

We want to support grassroots projects that promote healthy, local, affordable and sustainable food, while strengthening our local supply chains and food resilience. We will only provide support for community growing projects being delivered within Neath Port Talbot County Borough for the benefit of local communities.

This fund can only be used for revenue costs directly associated with community food growing activities that will be grown and harvested by the end of February 2027. Examples include:

  • Seeds or plants
  • Compost
  • Pots or containers for growing (not permanent planters)
  • Hand tools, seed trays, etc.
  • Staffing costs to support growing and harvesting

All funds must be spent and a short report submitted by 12th March 2027.

Download the application form and full guidance below, or email us at nptfood@4theregion.org.uk if you have any questions.

Please share this opportunity with groups in your community – and get in touch if you’d like printed copies of the application form or guidance.

Let’s keep NPT growing!
