NPT Food Partnership Joins Sustainable Food Places Celebration at Westminster

Earlier this month, the Neath Port Talbot Food Partnership joined dozens of other local food partnerships from across the UK for the annual Sustainable Food Places Day of Celebration and Action at Westminster.

Sustainable Food Places (SFP) is the national network that brings together food partnerships working to create healthier, fairer and more sustainable local food systems. The event offered a brilliant opportunity to connect with fellow partnerships, share experiences, and hear how the movement is growing in strength and confidence across the UK.

There was a particularly strong Welsh contingent this year, reflecting the huge progress being made across Wales. Speakers highlighted the Welsh Government’s commitment to supporting a local food partnership in every local authority area, and the difference this national backing is already making on the ground.

For NPT Food Partnership, it was inspiring to see how much common purpose exists across the UK and to be part of such a positive, forward-looking event. We returned energised, with new ideas and connections to feed into our work here in Neath Port Talbot.
